Laurie asked the group, what have you learned so far and what are you here to learn?
A recently certified death doula said she was learning more to make herself feel more comfortable about death, as well as help other people.
Another woman- to help families and patients, to make it more beautiful, less scary.
Woman-Comfort is imperative. We don’t talk about death. I talk about death a lot. It should be celebrated.
In Nigeria, the poor don’t have death rituals. Theosophical Society—seeking the truth.
I think it’s imperative for us as doulas to explore the [religious] concepts of everyone’s death, just to understand if we are helping people.
Lisa’s mom said she read 2/3rds of Journey of Souls and found it frightening. (cold, clinical)
Jean Westbrook Leavitt, a psychic medium who conducts past life regressions and is a certified hypnotist, 42 years work, age 76 next month.
She said she hopes to refind and reconnect to the joy of spirituality. Death is not scary at all. It’s so fabulous on the other side… beauty and energy and love. People have different experiences dying depending on where they’re at.
She described herself as an intuitive, super sensitive, with a sensory processing issue. Jean attended a conference where her third eye was opened. At home she began to do informal readings. People would ask her: Are my loved ones OK?
It’s those on the earth plane who are struggling. Deceased loved ones are in bliss. It depends on people’s attitudes toward spiritual evolution.
I believe strongly in reincarnation. We’re evolving all the time. There’s always a reconnection with loved ones (in death).
The vibrational frequency of the other side is different. I’m a translator. Meditation is the closest thing to the other side. You let go of the mind, thoughts, you can’t feel your body (in meditation).
There are conscious and unconscious deaths. Sometimes people aren’t aware that they died. Death doulas help people to let go. There are death doors. Blueprint. Choice. Some people think—that’s it, I’ve had it. I can’t do this anymore. Beam me up. First impressions of the deceased—it’s like taking off a tight shoe. There’s often a sense of expansion. A sense of movement, light beams guiding you. But we’re never alone, here, or on the other side. An angel, a spirit guide, a pet is coming to greet you. May not be a loved one but it will be loving. It’s not fate, it’s a choice.
In past life regression, I take you between lifetimes. What am I meant to learn? What you came in for? Our soul groups are our families. There’s no time or space. I like the image of an octopus—my oversoul—the head and 8 tentacles. I have 100—me in other lifetimes. We’re exploring and bringing back information.
Someone dies, there’s a tunnel, a light, you’re always met by a being of light, you’re never alone.
There’s no anger, pain, or fear. If people here are Catholics, there is no hell.
We’re in a whole shift. Duality based on fear. This is a period of acclunations (?). It takes a while before they reach the place of the period of review. Elders, spiritual guides—you get to evaluate what you did. You get to see the people that you did it to.
Jean mentioned the movie Powder.
On the other side you get to know how people felt and how you affected them. Karma. You get to feel what you did.
A person’s son died by suicide. (I do it all by the name.) He said tell my mom she has that special drawer with all the scarves and he’s been messing it up. She didn’t know what was happening. They (the dead) can get through to you in a million ways.
There’s absolutely no fear on the other side. It doesn’t exist—it’s a concept of the human mind.
Asked about spiritual mediumship—I invoke guides, spirits, beings of light.
I ask for full birth name/change of name. In the Akashic records, I start to see things, hear things, images, pictures, I tell you what I’m seeing. Questions, you can ask anything. I ask the name/location of where they died. The same way I read people, pets, buildings.
Laurie cited the movie What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams as a good description of the beginning of death.
Jean: Someone on this side of the room has someone who died who they haven’t let go of.
Question: When does it stop, what’s the purpose?
Jean: We come here to learn. The more evolved you are as a soul, the harder it is. Imprinting—you choose to be born in this incarnation. You have a tremendous amount of free will. It’s an evolution of things, moving out of the vibration of fear. I’ve worked my whole life.. fear is not helpful. I’ve evolved a huge amount. My goal is to keep evolving. You go around and around in different lifetimes with the same people. Color of light = levels of evolution. Think expansive, think beautiful. I’ve never had anyone (mention/say they were in) hell.
A woman was fearful of loud noises, balloons popping, etc. She went to 3 mediums, who said she was a nurse in the war in a past life.
The dead—they don’t care, they’re in bliss.
Woman: It sounds inviting.
Jean: A psychic said to me, courage. To clear up as much stuff before death.
Woman: What about the idea of life flashing before your eyes?
Jean: I think it’s the body—the body releasing the memories? It doesn’t affect the spirit. The Akashic record is a giant psychic library. Difficulties can be a past life thing they haven’t cleared. EFT, tapping, hypnosis, body work. Sometimes animals are sent to us.
[Death] is so beautiful—spectacular, like the Robin Williams movie. Everyone is a spiritual being, and those who are not have turned away from the light.
I had a mean sister who was abusive. She’s been one of my teachers. I sent light. I try not to judge her. I’m an eclectic, spiritual person. I’m here and this is my purpose.
Laurie: I’d like to suggest that we knew each before.
Jean: I’m teaching this vibrational shift. We need to meditate, focus on higher vibrational frequencies. How can we lift the vibration?

Scott: As a child I had surgeries… I’ve disconnected, had out of body experiences, near-death experiences while being in surgery.
Jean: You’re protecting yourself. Spirit can help.
