Laurie Livesay Schutt

Laurie Livesay Schutt
Before retiring as a journalist and strategic marketing consultant to the medical and scientific communities, Laurie assisted several friends and family members as they transitioned from their physical bodies. As an invaluable first-hand experience, Laurie realized that working with the dying was her special calling. In 2024, she completed INELDA’s Doula training. Laurie’s background was Pre-Med, and she earned a degree in Molecular Biology. She is an award-winning journalist and owned several small businesses.

Patricia Moore

Patricia Moore
An experienced hair stylist and wig specialist, Pat first owned Hair Alternatives in Dublin, then Ribbons Studio in Doylestown. She’s become an expert in helping cancer patients select and maintain wigs and hairpieces. For 20 years she was an American Cancer Society ambassador active in the “Look Good, Feel Better” program. She still speaks at seminars for cancer patients about hair and skin issues. Committed to giving back and doing more, Pat recently decided to become an end-of-life doula. With completion of her INELDA training, she is the second member of the Transition Doulas team, serving Bucks County residents.

Jennifer Gonzalez

Jennifer Gonzalez
A life-long advocate for others, Jennifer has spent her career in a service industry. Devoted to helping children “find their voices” she worked as a teacher in Houston and later served as a CASA (Court-appointed special advocate) for neglected and abused children. An INELDA-trained end-of-life doula, Jennifer now combines her joy of advocacy for children, with her work as an advocate for the dying helping them maintain some level of control without losing their voices as they transition.
While acquiring her 200-hour yoga certification, Jennifer discovered the Theosophical Society in Houston and invested years exploring the philosophy. Theosophy or “divine wisdom,” seeks a universal understanding of spirituality, bridging Eastern and Western philosophies. The movement promotes universal brotherhood, the study of different religions, and investigation into nature’s unexplained laws.

INTERNATIONAL END-OF-LIFE DOULA ASSOCIATION (INELDA)
A member-based, nonprofit organization, INELDA was founded in 2015, and is focused on meeting the non-medical needs of the dying. INELDA doulas are committed to ensuring that all individuals have accessible, equitable, and compassionate end-of-life care that affirms the dying person’s humanity and supports his/her end-of-life choices. INELDA is committed to supporting doulas serving those in residential homes, hospices, who are incarcerated, unhoused, and living on city streets.
